New Renishaw contract

Renishaw plc has placed a new contract for the supply of several thousand customised portable OT20 terminals from Oyster Terminals UK.
The terminal operates in conjunction with a range of motorised head probes, providing the user interface for probe manipulation and placement. The X-Y access keys on the terminal are used during the programming sequence to guide the probe around the component being inspected, e.g. the casting as seen in the adjoining picture.
Renishaw's Principal Buyer Andy Jones said, "We selected the terminal from Oyster, based on 'the willingness of the company to meet its requirements for customisation, keen pricing and excellent track record of delivering high quality product on schedule to us in the past".
Oyster's range of terminals are customised for many major OEMs including other such prestigious names as Siemens, BT, Strand Lighting and Domino.

Radio Terminal even more rugged
Strand Lighting use the R120 'remote' radio terminal to adjust the lighting conditions in theatres and auditoriums during rehearsals for optimum effect. The settings can then be automatically stored and sequenced on the Strand lighting control desk for use in live performances.
The Oyster terminal has acquired a new rugged rubber shock cover which slips over the case and makes the terminal even stronger. This is particularly useful for companies such as Strand Lighting where the terminal is consistently at risk of drop damage on the move. A further useful addition has been a strap which can go around the operators neck whilst he/she is climbing and needs both hands free.
Oyster relocate to Coventry
Oyster Terminals UK successfully relocated at the end of April 2003 to a new factory site in Coventry. As part of the move the company has invested heavily in a new IT infrastructure and telecoms network specifically geared to Oyster's business.
The new factory address is:
